2024 Community Outreach Campaign Kickoff – January 8

BALDWIN BONE & JOINT PARTNERS WITH BALDWIN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS & CITY HOPE CHURCH FOR 20TH ANNUAL MANY MORE MILES SHOE DRIVE

DAPHNE, ALA. (December 21, 2023) – Local school-age kids, runners and exercise enthusiasts may have put a lot of miles on old running shoes and shoes for all purposes, but when they are donated to the “Many More Miles” campaign, those gently used shoes will come to life again as they land on the feet of someone who really needs them.

For the 20th year, Baldwin Bone & Joint, P.C. will host this important community outreach project, and, for the third consecutive year, the local orthopaedic practice will partner with Baldwin County Public Schools and City Hope Church.

Since its inception, response to the campaign has grown from 200 pairs donated in 2004 to a record-breaking 4,000 pairs contributed in 2023. Shoe donations for 2024 are being accepted January 8 through March 15.

January Speaker Topics Include Understanding Osteoporosis and Treatment Solutions for Chronic Back Pain

DAPHNE, AL (December 15, 2023) – Daphne-based orthopaedic practice, Baldwin Bone & Joint announces the kickoff of its Winter 2024 Community Education Series to begin January 2024 in both Spanish Fort and Orange Beach, Al. A complimentary lunch will be provided to all who RSVP before each event.

January Community Talk with Fellowship-Trained Spine Surgeon Dr. James Hicks

DAPHNE, AL (December 4, 2023) – From physical therapy to lifestyle changes, non-surgical and surgical treatments, there are proven ways to effectively reduce and eliminate low back pain and improve overall functioning. Join Dr. James Hicks on Friday, January 12 as he raises awareness and offers hope for those suffering from chronic low back pain.

The public is invited to a complimentary Lunch & Learn event featuring Dr. James Hicks, fellowship-trained neck & spine specialist with The Spine Institute at Baldwin Bone & Joint. Dr. Hicks’ talk is entitled, “Understanding Low Back Pain & Available Treatment Options.”

Baldwin Bone & Joint’s Osteo Health Clinic Coordinator, Holly Scott, CRNP to Provide Complimentary Community Talk in Spanish Fort, AL

Daphne, AL (December 1, 2023) – Osteoporosis is a big issue for a lot of people, especially women over 50 and post-menopausal women. Nearly half of all women in those groups are likely to have a broken bone or other bone issues due to osteoporosis and 25 percent of men over 50 will likely have the same problems.

The public is invited to learn more by attending a complimentary lunch and learn event in Spanish Fort, AL featuring Holly Scott, CRNP, Baldwin Bone & Joint’s Osteo Health Clinic Coordinator. She will speak on “Understanding Osteoporosis and the Importance of Optimizing Bone Health as You Age.”
