Daphne-based Baldwin Bone & Joint Welcomes Pain Management Specialist To Orthopaedic Team

Daphne, Ala. (June 1, 2023) – Baldwin Bone & Joint is pleased to announce the association of Dr. Elliott Pennington to its team of fellowship-trained orthopaedic specialists, furthering the practice’s commitment to providing leading-edge comprehensive pain management solutions to the residents of the Gulf Coast.

A native of the Gulf Coast, Pennington received his bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and his medical degree from the University of South Alabama. He completed a clinical anesthesia residency and fellowship training in interventional pain medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

“Something that’s really exciting about pain management as a specialty is the rapid nature of how technology is changing what we can offer our patients,” Pennington said. “A huge benefit of joining the team at Baldwin Bone & Joint is the integrated nature of the clinic. We can work together as a team to create a plan for each individual patient and tailor their treatment to help improve their quality of life.”

With a patient-centered approach at the core of his practice, Pennington said it is his goal to empower patients to take an active role in their own pain management and to focus on addressing the underlying cause of the pain rather than just managing symptoms. Regarding patients undergoing orthopaedic procedures, Pennington said the management of acute and chronic pain is often a common concern and he is looking forward to working in conjunction with the physicians, providers, and physical therapists at Baldwin Bone & Joint to offer solutions to those patients as well.

“Additionally, by working collaboratively with the Baldwin Bone & Joint surgical team, I can help to optimize pain control during and after surgery, which can lead to improved patient outcomes and overall satisfaction. As a pain physician, I can offer a range of minimally invasive interventions and non-pharmacologic therapies that can be used as adjuncts to traditional pain management approaches, providing a more comprehensive and personalized approach to patient care.”
